Warring States & Qin Dynasty Miniature Range

Watchful I Studio is embarking on our first project. This range of miniatures will be posted on a Kickstarter going live Monday, March 23, 2015 at 12pm EST. We are planning on posting a draft of our Kickstarter to allow the public to give us feedback on the setup and different levels so we can make this a very successful endeavor. This is the first of many armies that we hope to cover during the same period in history with all of the forces complimenting each other. This cohesion will allow players to collect and play games against one another knowing that they are lived and fought around the same time period. Once we have a few armies established we are planning on publishing a set of rules as well as other supporting products. Range: Warring States / Qin Dynasty (475 – 206 B.C.) Wave 1: Core Product allowing players to build the mainstay of Chinese armies Origin: China Scale: 28mm Casting Material: Metal (Plastic depending on Kickstarter results)

We have been very active on designing concept art for a fantasy range that hopefully will be a welcome addition to the Chinese range. Moving forward we would like to design several armies that could be played historically or in a fantasy setting depending on the players preference. No force would not be complete without the myriad of war machines and support options that make fielding armies unique. Adding a variety of support choices can turn your standard army into a potent offensive force or a immovable solid stone wall. The army support options maintain a more historical feel to the army and may be included in both historical and fantasy games. Range: Warring States / Qin Dynasty (475 – 206 B.C.) Wave 3: Army Support Product Range as a possible supplement opened up in the Stretch Goals portion of the Kickstarter Origin: China Scale: 28mm Casting Material: Metal Shield Wall with logo Shield Bearers – The pack will contain armored warriors marching towards the front lines carrying their huge shields as well as extra shields to set them in place once the battle has commenced. Alternate poses for archers and crossbowmen – A firing line needs to be properly represented by soldiers loading and/or firing their weapons so there will be alternate poses for the archers and crossbowmen Repeating crossbowmen – Citizens and warriors alike would own repeating crossbows in order to protect their homes from invaders. The range of the repeating crossbow was quite limited but very deadly in close quarters. Giant crossbow – An unorthodox weapon and one that requires the user to lay on his back and hold the crossbow with outstretched legs. An additional crewman is required to load the large bolts as the other soldier holds the crossbow to fire.

War drums and flags were used as a method of communication on the ancient battlefields of China. Not every commander would have the time to array such an awesome display of musicians but all commanders would have a corps of musicians to direct their troops in battle.

Ballista with logo

The ballista was a difficult weapon to transport and move around the battlefield but its excessively large bolts caused fear in the enemy.
